Let's have some Halloween fun by painting spooky cabins at The Soldotna Homestead Museum. The museum is actually closed for the season but per their website "We are now closed for the 2021 season. However, you can still access the museum grounds for photo ops, nature trail, and out lovely new interpretive outdoor signage boards at each cabin. If the gate is locked, we recommend parking at the Soldotna Visitor Center and walking over." I drove by the other day and the gate is locked so park at the Soldotna Visitor Center.
I have no idea if any of the cabins are actually haunted but we can certainly pretend that they are. Also feel free to bring any sort of prop that can be easily set into and removed from the scene to help spook things up a bit and get into the Halloween spirit. I plan on bringing a couple of newly acquired faux rat skeletons and maybe a pumpkin or Jack O'lantern.
Also, bring your painting/drawing supplies and gear, snacks and any drinks you want, chair or sit-upon and anything else you may need. Dress warm. Hand warmers and a thermos of something hot to drink will also help keep the chill away.
