How do social networks impact our relationships? How have they changed notions of self and community? What can we learn about our culture from how people use social networks? How does social media lead to deception and how can we combat it?

Thinking Machines at the de Young museum is a conversation and networking series gathering designers, technologists, artists, and thinkers to discuss the impact of new technologies, advances in design thinking, and how these innovations are shaping the world around us, today, and into the future. This series is inspired by the themes of the de Young’s major exhibition Cult of the Machine. Tickets are $25.
