Road Cycling Group Rides

Whether you are looking to create your own road cycling club or ride with an already established biking group, we have compiled a list of tips for you. In this post, you will find road cycling tips to get you ready for a group ride.

Be considerate when braking. An alternative to braking would be to sit up slightly to take on some wind resistance. This will cause you to slow down more smoothly than tapping the brakes. Also, this will prevent a chain reaction that would cause the road bikers behind you to brake. There will be times when you will need to use the brakes, when you need to stop more abruptly.  When you don't need to stop so abruptly, try the above mentioned method.

Be a considerate member of your road biking club by showing up on time and prepared for the cycling group event. Make sure that you have the proper tools on hand and your water bottle. Take in to account that there may be traffic at various times of the day. Check google maps prior to the start time of your club's cycling event to see how heavy the traffic is along your route.

When climbing up hills, be considerate by setting a reasonable pace that the middle of your cycling club can keep up with. This will help keep your club members together so that riders in the front won't need to wait at the top of the climb for the rest of the group to catch up.

Hopefully, these tips have helped you. Be sure to share your favorite tips in your road cycling club.
