Hello, everybody! I wanted to share this handy-dandy Hunger-Fullness scale that I obtained from my nutritionist's course. I think it will be a really helpful tool to consult throughout the day. BASICALLY, the concept is this: In order to have SUSTAINABLE (therefore successful in the long run) WEIGHT-LOSS -- we need to learn how to eat at the RIGHT TIMES. Eating at the right times helps us make wiser food choices because eating at the right times means that we're NOT overly hungry (which is when we make the worst choices and we end up ordering those pizzas and eating those burgers) and instead we will be eating the lean meats, the salads, the salmon. All of the food that is actually medicine for us, that will heal us and help us keep fuller throughout the day! We want to have our meals when we are at Levels 3 through 4. Whenever you are at those Levels (read the descriptions of each level so that you can determine where you are) -- YOU ARE IN A GOOD PLACE TO MAKE A WISE FOOD CHOICE. You are in a good place to not overeat. DO NOT let yourself ever get to a Level 1 or 2, which is when you are RAVENOUS and you will be ordering the pizza, feeling lightheaded and nauseous and when you will negatively impact your metabolism. On the other end of the spectrum -- it's also a good idea to AVOID Levels 9 and 10 -- which is when you are OVERLY FULL. We don't want to overeat. You want to eat just enough. 'Cause we're not beasts. We don't need to eat like sumo wrestlers -- lol. My nutritionist put all this much more eloquently but, I think you get the idea. When we let ourselves become overly hungry, our blood sugar drops, we mess up our insulin levels AND WE ARE EVEN LESS LIKELY TO WORK OUT. DO NOT LET MORE THAN AN HOUR PASS before you eat something if you find yourself in Levels 1 through 4. This is a critical time when it's utterly important to eat something to help regulate your metabolism. If you can't eat a proper meal and you find yourself in those critical levels -- at least snack on something so that you do not INHALE your meal when you finally are able to get to it. I will definitely make use of this handy-dandy tool. It's something that I've never tried before, and I think that at our age -- we really need to make better overall choices. We no longer can get away with messing around with our metabolism. We need to keep it as optimal as possible.

I feel ya! Sometimes when I don't eat I feel shaky and faint, any little snack helps that go away. Probably not very healthy! Especially when the weekend pizza comes in and I eat like 1,500 in pizza in one sitting! It sounds simple but it's hard finding the right method of dieting :/

It is hard, for sure. But this scale can definitely help. Try consulting it. Assess your hunger levels. If you're within Levels 1 thru 4 -- SOUND THE ALARM! You should eat something within the hour -- otherwise you will be bringing your metabolism down and might be in danger of overeating. We're not going to perfect our eating habits overnight -- but this tool can be a good start!
