DIANA'S FAVORITE SCENE 3: Opening Scene from 'Breakfast at Tiffany's': I think there are many reasons I love this scene: 1: It takes place in the wee hours of the morning, which have always been my FAVORITE hours of the day -- because there is this quiet, peace and solitude that you just can't get during the remaining hours of the day. The world just seems that much more magical and there is a lot of hope for the day ahead. 2: Because of the New York City setting. :) 3: It's got coffee and pastries. Delish! Seems quite comforting! 4: The FASHION and GLAMOUR that the character Holly Golightly already exudes right off-the-bat. 5: The Tiffany's store itself. I'm not big into jewelry, but I can appreciate the design, history and elegance of this iconic 5th Avenue Tiffany's store.

Now that's sort of strange to eat outside of Tiffany's, but I guess that's the vibe!

Haha! It is kind of strange, but she's actually standing in front of a Tiffany's jewelry window display (it still stands today! Many women dress up like Audrey Hepburn and recreate this scene with a coffee and a pastry in hand!) because it's her one Happy Place on Earth. In the movie, the character says that whenever she feels bad and she doesn't even know where it's coming from -- Tiffany's is the only place that makes her feel safe and calm -- like nothing bad could happen to you there. Even though she doesn't necessarily purchase any jewelry from them, ever -- as she's always struggling for money.
